{"id":174,"date":"2015-07-13T09:17:27","date_gmt":"2015-07-13T14:17:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/designyoursuccess.com\/?p=174"},"modified":"2015-07-13T22:32:02","modified_gmt":"2015-07-14T03:32:02","slug":"for-the-love-of-money","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-ucs.com\/tina\/for-the-love-of-money\/","title":{"rendered":"For The Love Of Money&#8230;How To Use Money To Express Self-Love"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>I don\u2019t have a money tree, do you?<\/strong>\u00a0 I&#8217;ve worked hard for every dollar I&#8217;ve earned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>My attitude toward money definitely began with my family.\u00a0<\/strong> Whenever I asked for something I wanted that was expensive or not really\u00a0necessary, I got responses like these, but always with a chuckle:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;Do you think money grows on trees?&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;Let me go shake the money tree in the back yard\u2026.&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>We never had much,<\/strong> but my parents found a way to send me and my sister to private school <strong>because they believed it was important.<\/strong> Mom went back to work and Dad worked a lot of extra shifts to make ends meet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">My relationship with money has certainly had its ups and downs.\u00a0<strong> I\u2019ve had nothing, I\u2019ve had just enough, I\u2019ve had the \u201chold my breath and pray nothing happens this month\u201d amount of money, and I\u2019ve had a high-paying job and the financial freedom that afforded me.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">So why do I care about your\u00a0relationship with money? \u00a0I care because it is\u00a0often such an important aspect of your life, <strong>you\u00a0need to get clear on how you get along with our money.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>And many people aren\u2019t clear.<\/strong>\u00a0 I wasn\u2019t either, but now I am.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In fact, on one end of the spectrum, <strong>some people have their head in the sand<\/strong>; and on the other, <strong>some are far more consumed with worry than they should be.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>The first step is to understand what you have, where it goes, and what you want it to do for you.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>[Tweet &#8220;Do you have a good handle on how your money serves you or are you divorced from that relationship?&#8221;]<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Do you\u00a0worry about money<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s1\"> (<\/span><span class=\"s1\">either the <strong>abundance<\/strong> or the <strong>lack<\/strong> of it) <strong>more than you should?<\/strong> \u00a0Or have you <strong>allowed your money to serve you well?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">You see, <strong>your relationship with money is like every other relationship you\u00a0have in life!<\/strong>\u00a0 Are you caring, kind, gentle,\u00a0 and clear about what you need and want?\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">[Tweet &#8220;How we treat our money is an indication of how we treat ourselves!&#8221;]<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">In order for you\u00a0to have a good relationship with your money, you have to love yourself <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">and allow your money to come along for the ride! \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><span class=\"s1\">WHAT YOU WANT\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><span class=\"s1\">SHOULD GUIDE\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><span class=\"s1\">WHAT YOU DO!\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">When you want to\u00a0take control and get your head out of the sand,\u00a0<strong>ask yourself this question when you think about spending or investing money:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Are my decisions about money consistent with my expectations\u00a0for\u00a0myself?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\" style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><span class=\"s1\">Paying attention to your money is a way to show yourself some love.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><span class=\"s1\">You control the way your money works for you. \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><span class=\"s1\">Don\u2019t sit on the sidelines &#8211; be &#8220;all in&#8221; when it comes to your relationship with your money. \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><span class=\"s1\">Make your behaviors around money\u00a0consistent with your expectations for yourself.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Now it&#8217;s your turn!
